Visit to the winery plus tasting of 4 wines
A visit to learn about the history of CELLERS DE SCALA DEI in the context of Priorat as a significant wine-producing region. We will explore its terroir, grape varieties and production techniques.
This visit consists of three parts, each lasting about half an hour.
The first part serves as an introduction to CELLERS DE SCALA DEI. We cover the arrival of the Carthusian monks from Provence, who introduced the vines from Provence in the 12th century, and we trace the timeline to what CELLERS DE SCALA DEI is today, highlihting the key dates that have shaped our identity.
During the second part, we will explore the production and aging areas, explaining our winemaking process.
The third part involves a wine tasting, when we explore in graeter detail the production process of each wine. For more information about this tasting, please refer to “Introduction Taste to Cellers de Scala Dei”

Visit and Tasting in the Vineyards
We invite you to explore our vineyards located on the hillside of the Montsant Natural Park through an exclusive 4x4 excursion that will take you through the highest vineyards in the DOQ Priorat.
You will discover the essence of CELLERS DE SCALA DEI and taste, in the same vineyard where our single-vineyard wines are born and where the Carthusian monks already cultivated. This excursion is more than just a wine tasting. It is an opportunity to experience firsthand what it was like to tend the first vineyards in Priorat.
The excursion starts at 10:30 am and concludes at 3:30 pm. We begin with a light breakfast above the Carthusian monastery accompanied by a tasting of three of our wines. Afterwards, we head towards Masdeu, one of the highest vineyards in the DOQ Priorat. But first, we stop in Sant Antoni and Massipa, where we taste the wines produced from these vineyards. We arrive in Masdeu around 12:30, where we have a meal consisting of cheese and charcuterie boards, crackers, bread, dessert and wine. The visit concludes with a brief tour around the winery
This tour is specially designed for those who love to combine a quite day in the countryside with wine and food. A disconnection from everyday life.

Tasting The Grenaches from Scala Dei
A tasting focused on the most emblematic variety of our winery.
This tasting begins with a quick tour (10 minutes) through the production and aging facilities, after which we will sit in the tasting room to taste six of our wines. This wine tasting is primarily focuses on our wines.
We tasted:
White - “Blanc de Negres” 100% Red Grenache
Rosé – “Pla del Àngels” 100% Red Grenache
Red – “Prior” ± 60% Red Grenache
Red – “Cartoixa” ± 80% Red Grenache ink
Red - “St. Antoni” 100% Red Grenache
Red – “Masdeu” 100% Red Grenache
Red Grenache is one of the historical varieties of the DOQ Priorat that the Carthusian monks brought from Provence in the 12th century. The wines made from the Masdeu and Sant Antoni vineyards, located on the side of the Montsant mountain ridge, are two single-vineyard wines named after their respective vineyards. These wines are crafted in the traditional style used by our ancestors.

Full Wine Tasting
This tasting is where we sample all the wines we currently have available. It starts with a quick tour ( 10 minutes ) through the production and aging facilities, and then we sit in the tasting room where we taste about 8 wines.
Usually we taste: “Blanc de Scala Dei”, “Blanc de Negres”, “Pla dels Àngels”, “Massipa”, “Prior”, “Cartoixa”, “Pregatera”, “St. Antoni” and “Masdeu”.
This is the complete tasting experience for wine lovers who want to explore our wines in depth. We will cover all the wine profileswe offer, including our limited and most exclusive editions.

Introduction Wine Tasting
This taste is the las part of the “Introduction Visit” tour.
We taste four of our wines. We normally offer two young and two aged wines. Depending on the season, the wines we taste may change and are subject to availability.
This tasting is led by one of our sommeliers, who will explain the production process of the wines as well as their sensory characteristics.
This experience is designed for those who wish to savor our most popular wines without distractions, allowing you to focus solely on the wines from CELLERS DE SCALA DEI.
Duration: Approximately 30 minutes.
The activity starts on time. We can wait a couple of minutes more at most for those who are late.
Events, Groups and Exclusive Visits
Contact us to organise a group or exclusive visit and host your event with us (maximum 50 people). We have our tasting room and sommeliers at your disposal. We also offer pairings in collaboration with the highest-end restaurants in Priorat.
This experience is exclusive, totally personalised and tailor-made. To guarantee this exclusivity the minimum price is €400.00.
